I bought this dress a couple of months ago because I needed something fancy for a business meeting. I usually tend to stay away from white, but this one looked so elegant I couldn't keep it out of my head. And I really love the idea of a white canvas which you can paint with splashes of color and jewelry.

That's the long and that's the short of it
How gorgeous is my new maxi skirt from Mango? Right? I picked it up from their online outlet store and my heart skipped a bit when I first saw it. I rarely shop on line because I prefer buying from regular stores. I love the fussing around in the changing room, trying out different outfit combinations, being able to touch and feel the fabric and seeing the actual fit. But with this one I didn't even blink, I bought it on the spot. The fringe top is also a new addition, bought on my recent trip to France and I love it to pieces.

Age is just a number
Yeap, that's right. Today is my birthday. The big three o. 30!!! It's a bit scary to tell you the truth, but I have to keep reminding myself that age is just a number. Unfortunately I am traveling for work and I don't get to celebrate it at home with my loved ones. The good thing is at least my work sent me to Paris, so I can't complain about that.

Shake the disease
Having a day off from work smack in the middle of the week was just what the doctor ordered. And I mean that literally. Leave it up to me to catch a cold right in the middle of summer, that surely takes certain abilities. After moping around the house for the first half of the day, I decided to drag my ass out and meet with a friend. There wasn't a better time to put my make-up skills to the test to hide the mess that could be read on my face. I kept the outfit pretty basic so I could ride my bike, but the embellished t-shirt was what saved it.

I only wear pink when I feel decadent
The kind folks over at nowistyle sent me this hot pink shirt and I must admit I was a bit scared at first. It's true that I have been allowing bold colors to enter my wardrobe for several years now, but I've always considered pink a bit too much to handle. After giving it some thought I decided I would not let a color defeat me. The houdstooth print on the shorts seems to balance it nicely and I am quite pleased with the result. I even went out that night dressed like this. I am taking baby steps towards color tollerance. True story.

Come home
This is the last vacation vacation set I have to share. I was back in my hometown for a day and this is what I wore for a stroll out and about. I love the print on this maxi skirt so I didn't want to wear anything that would take the attention off it. the cropped tee with the shoulder cut-outs was the perfect match. I can't say I am a big fan of the trend but it was worth trying it out one time. my mom's sunglasses were the perfect touch to complete the look. I guess I end up borrowing stuff from her closet much more often than I did when I lived back home.

The importance of being idle
Who could have imagined that the Delta would be the perfect place for me? I mean judging just by my tattoos (although inspired by the Japanese culture), you can tell that I would fit right in this environment abundant in water lilies and dragonflies. I am pretty sure that if I come back next spring I could find some cherry trees in bloom, and then the picture would be complete.

Random access memories
Wearing a flamingo tee on top of polka dot skirt shorts (I don't like how skort sounds) and a polka dot head scarf might seem cuckoo in the city. Imagine what it would be like to wear this in the countryside, which is exactly what I did. In my defence I was in the Danube Delta, where bird t-shirts at least are totally appropriate. Throw in a pair of heart shaped sunnies and it's a recipe for turning people's heads over. While on vacation, it is advisable not to take oneself too seriously.

We're in the same boat you and I
Our next vacation destination has been the Danube Delta, where we stayed for 5 days. We took boat trips along the beautiful canals, admired the water lilies and did some serious bird watching. We feasted on 2 course fish dishes twice a day and couldn't get enough. We lounged on the deck, enjoyed reading and watched the sun set. It was the best of times.
