This was just one of those days when comfort was my main priority. That and keeping myself warm. I had already stocked up all my tights and stockings deep down in the back of my closet with the hope I wouldn't be needing them until fall. Miss spring insisted on bringing them out again.

A grownup is a child with layers on

The rain stopped right before I went out on Sunday afternoon and the sun shined quite brightly. The clouds were chasing one another, moving at incredible speed as if on a highway and hiding the sun from us from time to time. If only it was warmer, I would have started chasing rainbows across the town. Instead I went in for a cup of cinnamon toffee nut latte to warm up. I was wearing my new dress from nowistyle which I find conveniently easy to throw on. The layering makes it look like separates, and gives the impression that thought and effort were put into creating this ensemble. Now this is a trick to my liking.

second bite of the apple

my recipe for a relaxed weekend getup: an oversized shirt, denim shorts, flat strap sandals and fun colorful accessories. the rotten apple necklace was a present from my wonderful boyfriends and I love it to pieces. the fun activities for the day included a photo shoot with the girls, going to the movies with the gang (I saw The Great Gatsby and I highly recommend it, the costumes and decor are absolutely stunning), a late night visit to the arts museum followed by drinks and laughter at the pub. how was your weekend, darlings?

and I'm a black rainbow

with every change in hair color comes a period of moderation in what regards my sartorial choices and also a period of adjustment. it's something like an actor getting into character. I want to keep everything kind of low key and draw the focus to the hair. I am a Leo after all and I take great pride in my mane. I love wearing black and I never realized before how good it looks against lighter hair.

it seems it's written, but we can't read between the lines

it should come as no surprise that I change my hair color quite frequently. those of you who follow me on instagram (@skinny_buddda) are already au courant with my new do. when I was younger the change was mostly driven by the fact that I was getting bored easily. I would choose colors on a whim and move to the next with no hesitation or regrets. later on, it became a matter of what colors and hairstyles looked good on me and suited my personality. now it's all about exploring the options out there. the possibilities are endless, but for now I decided to try something less shocking for the others (trust me, it was either this or rainbow hair) but totally out of my comfort zone.

don't break my heart and I won't break your ♥ shaped glasses

I know if been kind of scarce with words lately and I am going to rectify that. today is an off day so I am anxious to get out of the house as soon as possible and enjoy this glorious weather. the strangest thing happened while I was prancing around at the mall last weekend wearing this dress. a lady came up to me saying she had the exact same dress. I said mine was thrifted and had it for years and she replied that so was hers. what are the chances? the main reason I go thrift shopping is because I know I won't be seeing the same garment on the streets. but I guess you never know.
