I can see through you, see your true colors

Mesh see-through bodysuit double buckle belt

I am a very impatient person when it comes to new purchases. If I'm buying something I am really excited about, most likely I would like to wear it out of the store. And most likely I take that new item out for pictures as soon as possible. You will not find a single item in my wardrobe that I've never worn and with the tag still on.  Smart shopping for me means I either love or hate a certain item with no room for meh or grey areas in between. I was super excited to wear my new mesh see-through bodysuit with this gorgeous open back and I've already taken it out for a spin 4 times already, in different combinations. I was waiting for the perfect sunny day to snap some photos of it and I had a very specific background in my mind. You know that the background for the photos is sometimes as important as the outfit itself. Turns out the thing I was looking for was literally in front of my eyes: the parking lot behind my apartment building. The neutral grey tones, the minimal architecture and the black railings perfectly complemented my outfit.
In other news, I am totally obsessed with this new bracelet from Adina Mircea. It's a present  bought for myself before Easter. Yeah, I do that sometimes, don't you? You know how much I adore her jewelry collections, and the ring I am wearing today has also made numerous appearances here on the blog. I finally made an appointment at my favorite hair salon, Dichiseria, and got a much needed trim, color update. My hair ends were pretty damaged and they needed a lot of TLC. Now my hair is super smooth, shiny and healthy again. Having a good hair day can certainly lift your spirit if nothing else can. That and a little bit of shopping are the best therapies, right?
We have a long weekend ahead of us, hurray! I'm loving the vibe of this bodysuit so much, I might repeat this outfit with a pair of high top Converse instead of the high heel boots.

We're a couple when our bodies double

Skinny Buddha double buckle belt

Double trouble or double the fun? This double buckle belt is one of those cool items you instantly want and wonder how you ever lived without it so far. OK, the other one is that double G Gucci belt we've all seen plastered all over the internet lately. That's on the wishlist for sure, but not necessarily something I would invest in right now. To be honest, I ordered this one because I loved the details on the buckles and I wanted to wear it with jeans. Unfortunately the size of the buckles is too big for the belt loops on most of my pairs of jeans. So I had to put on hold for a while the outfit I originally had in mind. The cool thing is that it works really well as a waist belt, so you can wear it over dresses and loose tops and it will give them an instant edge.
For today's outfit I wanted to play a bit with volumes so I went for a loose top (which can be worn as a summer dress as well, I guess) and a pair of palazzo pants with split details on the legs. These pants literally have a life of their own when I start to move, and I absolutely love the shapes they create as I am walking. If I stand still you would say I am wearing a skirt. I wanted to wear a pair of cuff bracelets to keep the "double" theme going, but that would have distracted the attention from the belt, and I wanted it to be the focus. Instead I wore a pair of star shaped earrings, which although quite big they are quite understated. I realize the outfit looks quite summery, but since the weather here hasn't been very predictable lately, we've occasionally enjoyed some pretty warm days. Today it rained, so I guess it evens out. I am quite determined though to wear this double buckle belt with jeans, so stayed tuned cause you're going to see this item a lot in rotation this summer. Hmmm, I wonder if I can wear it with my denim shorts? Haven't tried that yet.

All else is hollow

Cut-out t-shirt Hollow Triangle Waist Belt

I am a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, especially during the weekdays if there is nothing else planned other than taking my daughter to the park and shopping for groceries. If I have to meet friends in the evening or over the weekend, I tend to dress up because honestly it's my only chance. This weekend was spent with the extended family, as my parents came to visit, so it was a very relaxed event and dressing up was pointless. I did want to bring a twist to my daily uniform and indulged a bit in my bondage fantasy. Corsets and waist belts and super hot this season and they look amazing when worn over a basic tee or blouse. If you don't care for this trend at all you might argue that my hollow triangle belt looks more like a weightlifter's belt rather than a fashion accessory. Never mind, I love it just the same. I wore it over a basic white tee with a cut-out detail around the neckline. The truth is I ordered the t-shirt one size too big and so the trick with the waist belt was necessary to give me at least the illusion of a waist. I think it looks really chic. Do you guys have any tricks to upgrade your weekend staples?
