As the countdown for the New Year is starting, it's time to take a look back at the year that is coming to an end and examine my sartorial choices. It's been a wonderful year and I can definitely notice a change in my style since I became a mom. I might not have been as active this year on the blog as I have been in the past, but I am sure you can all understand that. On the other hand, I think I have participated in a lot more social activities and fashion related events, and my daughter was there with me most of the times. I've been a lot more active on my other social media platforms such as Instagram (@skinny_buddha) and Snapchat (@skinnybuddham), so make sure you keep up with me there as well. So, before I reveal my favorite outfits of 2016 I want to wish you all a Happy New Year full of happiness and great style!

Frozen
Woke up this morning and everything around us was covered in a light coat of snow and frozen solid. It seemed surreal, eerie and beautiful at the same time. That's one of the benefits of living outside the city and being surrounded by an open field. The trees looked like cotton candy and everything was silent and still. It seemed like a good idea to add some color to the scenery, so out I went to snap some outfit photos. I've been dying to wear my new lace up suede skirt, although I knew it wasn't really weather appropriate. I put on the thickest skin color tights I could find, and the brightest red turtleneck to make the outfit pop. I know red is such a cliche color for the holidays but I really love this color mix. I can already see myself wearing this while sipping a cup of hot chocolate and decorating the Christmas tree. Am I the only one who hasn't decorated it yet? Anyway, hope you guys have a wonderful Christmas, and I'll see you after the holidays!

The age of the understatement
We've had an exceptionally sunny winter day yesterday and I couldn't be happier. I've been in sort of a sulky mood lately, hence the lack of posting and activity on social media, and this was just the kick I needed to stop procrastinating and get some things done. First on my agenda was to get out and take some outfit pictures for the blog. I only managed to snap one of two outfits because we were losing the light, but it all turned out for the better because I wasn't totally happy with my second outfit anyway. I then stopped by for some shopping therapy at the Fashion Fridays Christmas Fair. If you are in need of some cool gift ideas for the holidays and want to give Santa some help, our local designers have plenty to offer, so make sure you check out their selection. The fair is open today as well. Of course I went to the voting station as well, but since the preliminary results of the parliamentary elections look kind of gloomy, I will not get into the subject.
Now let's move on to the fun part, and that is the outfit I am wearing. I ditched the coat for the sake of the photos, but as I was saying, we had a pretty warm day yesterday so I did not freeze for a change. I started putting together this outfit around this pleated midi skirt in a beautiful scarlet tone. I love the elegance of pleated skirts and they way they move when I walk or swirl. Yes yes, even grown ups swirl. I kept everything else in muted tones so that the skirt would stand out. But I guess this cozy criss-cross sweater is an eye catcher as well. I've been kinda obsessed with laces lately, and this sweater definitely stole my heart. Love that you can wear it off the shoulder as well and show off some skin (*wink*). Pairing knits with fluid materials is one of my favorite mixes the result is super stylish.
