a girl in a red dress can do without introductions

my friends at Tiramisu alle fragole invited me recently to check out their new arrivals and I was instantly drawn to this little red dress. the beautiful chain details on the shoulders and the metal cinch in the waist are all the accessories you need for a polished day look. but of course, I couldn't help myself and added the necklace too.

a golden age I know

I cannot believe it's already time for sandals. though I won't give up wearing stockings just yet, it was refreshing to be able to walk around in this getup on Sunday. the heat is not unbearable so I can still wear lots of black, so it's basically the perfect weather. I accessorized my outfit with golden details to give it a more sophisticated and polished look.

watch the world spinning gently out of time

all this talk about Coachella makes me so envious of all those who can make it. the lineup for this weekend is amazing! for me it will have to remain a distant dream but if I were to go, this is what I would wear. you can also check out my look on nowistyle.

the cat's meow

this weekend it was finally warm enough to shed some layers and I jumped at the chance of showing my new leopard spots. I think the cute little doggie in the third picture was quite intreagued by my feline appearance. I love it when animal prints are not done in a literal way.

queen of my castle

I bet you weren't expecting this but yes, I do sometimes dream that I am a queen and live in my own castle. maybe it's because of all the Game of Thrones I've been watching (I am super excited about this new season! have you seen Daenerys' costume in the first episode?). or maybe it is because my inner child doesn't give up on dreams that easily. luckily there's a park in my city for children of all ages, and here my fantasies come true.

have I hit a raw nerve

nature has exploded with color lately, and apparently so have I. bare with me, for I am not always the quickest to embrace new trends. I didn't care much for neon colors last year but they started to grow on me. neon green tends to look a bit radioactive but now it makes me think of the fresh grass that started sprouting about. I love the hemline of this shirt, it resembles flower petals and softens the look. when I first tried this on I was afraid I would look like a referee. ups, maybe I shouldn't have said anything, now I've planted this thought in your mind.

carve your name into my arm

here is my take on dressing up on Sundays. I was meeting my girls Laura and Claudia in town at a very chic bar that one of our friends recommended. it's called Swiss House, in case you were wondering.  the place is exquisitely decorated, ample and airy and turned out to be the perfect setting for a photoshoot. it was actually nice to take some interior shots for a change and have furniture and walls as props (instead of the bag I always cling to). I was wearing a pencil skirt and what I call my tattoo shirt. it helps me fight the urge to get more tattoos, but I obviously don't wear it often enough.

when did we stop scribbling on the walls?

sooner or later children armed with crayons and markers will inevitably toss aside the approved mediums and start leaving their fine art on the walls. later on in life, teenagers and full grown people will take on the city walls with their graffiti art. I guess it's only human nature, since we've been doing this since we were living in caves. I am an art lover, but with no claim to be a connaisseur, and I appreciate all art forms. introducing my newest obsession: the scribbled cardigan! it's like wearing art. modern art that no one understands.

make sure to wear some flowers in your hair

It should be obvious by now that I am crazy about flowers this season. I've loved floral tights for a few seasons now, but I only recently added other flower printed apparel to my wardrobe. A brand new entry is the flower headband, and strangely enough this is not the first time I've worn such a piece.  It was only after I bought it that I remembered my mom once made me a spring fairy costume when I was in kindergarden. It was a long white dress adorned with little flowers and a beautiful flower crown on my head. Flower crowns also remind me of getting first prize in primary school. And now, 20 something years later I have come full circle. No costume or prize involved, though.
