Got the marks to prove it

Skinny Buddha Mango black dress lace kimono

It seems most of my posts lately have started with an apology and unfortunately this one will be no exception. Life's pretty hectic right now, I am still travelling quite a bit for work and organizing photo shoots seems harder and harder. Man, I need a vacation! I attended a social event this weekend and this was my outfit. I wasn't quite sure about the dress code for the event and as always, I turn to my love for black whenever I am not sure what to wear. And sure enough black always saves the day!

I want to take you to the distant past

Skinny Buddha Stella McCartney silk dress

I didn't go through a life crisis when I turned 30 and I don't plan to go through one now that I am approaching 32, but I do sometimes think about life and the passing of time. I am not the drama queen type but I do get a bit anxious at the though of growing old. Flipping through old photographs can be beneficial sometimes, it gives you a sense of accomplishment, it proves you've grown as a person and evolved. But on the other hand it can also bring you down, remind you how quickly time has passed and maybe you did not achieve as much as you intended in this time slot. For me, wearing a piece of clothing that I've owned for ages and has a story behind it always makes me go back to that age and time and I feel super rejuvenated. I had to check out some old pictures on Facebook to remember exactly when I bought this spectacular dress, and it turns out it's already been 6 years. I recall the day exactly, I was in Bucharest visiting my best friend when I stumbled upon this treasure and I remember thinking this is a day to remember. Time does fly, but up to a point, I think we are not getting older, we're getting wiser.

Tangerine dreaming

Skinny Buddha tangerine Atmosphere sweater dress

Sometimes I am super lazy and don't feel like trying on stuff at the store, or sometimes it's so crowded at the changing rooms that you just give up. If you've ever been to a Primark in London you know what I am talking about. I fell in love with the color of this sweater dress the minute I laid my eyes on it. But once I got back to the hotel I couldn't figure for the life of me how to wear it. It looked super weird with tights, it was too short to wear it on its own, so for a while I wore it over skinny jeans. My torso is quite long and I tend to have such problems with shorter dresses (or maybe I am way to self conscious), and especially with dresses with elastic bands in the waist. But now I found the perfect solution and that is wearing it over a vintage slip I borrowed from my mom. It adds a bit more length and it looks a lot more fun. Problem solved!

Don't grow up, it's a trap!

Skinny Buddha full midi floral skirt

Happy 1st of June and happy Children's Day! We're all kids inside, kids of all ages! Although I don't normally need an excuse to act or feel like a kid, I always feel all giddy warm and fuzzy inside on June 1st, just like I did growing up. This day is here to remind us to have more fun, smile more often and eat more ice cream! So let your hair down, or in my case make another (failed) attempt to curl your hair (it's about time I gave up the foam rollers and invest in some heavy duty equipment), give your favorite skirt a twirl and have a wonderful day!
