I really think I need to cut back

white wrap cut-out back top boyfriend jeans

If you want to turn people's heads on the street make sure to make it worth their while! I love an open back, I consider it a lot more sexy than showing some cleavage for example. Bare shoulders are on the top of that list as well, and I was over the moon excited when I found this wrap top with cut-out details in the back. I've already worn it on two occasions and I am sure it will be one of my summer staples. It literally hugs your body and it's super flattering. For a casual look it can be worn with boyfriend jeans and flats or high heel sandals, hair in a messy bun and a cross body bag. I also wore it with culottes and it looked quite chic. Next time I'll try it with denim shorts and a pair of high top Converse, I am sure it will look great. As I said in a previous post, I always look for versatility in the pieces that I buy, as well as great design. I've really tried to cut back on shopping lately and only invest in pieces that I love and that will get a lot of wear. I really love this simple choker I made out of a piece of black ribbon. The bow detail in the back looks really cute and compliments the design of the top.

Wardrobe remix: 5 ways to wear the tutu skirt

5 ways to wear the tutu skirt
See the original post here

I recently wore my tutu skirt here and I realized that over the years this skirt proved to be a lot more versatile than I originally thought. I wore it on  multiple occasions, and because I don't really like to repeat outfits, I always tried to find new ways to mix it. Surely this is not on the top 10 essential items in a woman's wardrobe, but it is definitely a whimsical addition. I always look for versatility when buying new items, because lets face it, our closets are not limitless and we do have to wear the same item multiple times. I don't always do this, but it helps to create at least 3 outfits in your mind when buying a new piece. Especially when you are making a bigger investment on a certain item, you need to make sure you will wear it often enough so that the cost per wear get smaller. Hope you guys will be inspired by my choices, let me know which one is your favorite!

Dragele mele, daca tot am vorbit despre versatilitatea pieselor pe care le adaugam in garderoba si modurile in care putem mixa aceste piese, va invit sa continuam discutia Sambata 28 Mai, ora 16.00,  la Iulius Mall Timisoara la evenimentul "Fashion cat vezi cu ochii". Wedding wear and a surprising accessory

wedding wear floral maxi dress

Wedding season is in full swing, and even though I am not a big fan of weddings I knew this one was going to be different. The location for one was spectacular. We drove about an hour and a half outside the city to a domain where in 1903 an Austrian baron built a secession style castle/mansion, as a wedding gift for his fiancee. The property contains multiple wedding spaces, both indoor and outdoor, a spacious park filled with rare species, 300 years old oak trees, a vegetation tunnel and cherry orchards where deer, peacocks, pheasants, swans and pigeons roam about.
The other reason why this wedding was a bit different were the bride and groom, who decided to combine black tie attire with a surprising accessory: sneakers - and encouraged us to do the same. If you follow me on Snapchat (username: skinnybuddham) you might have already seen their outfits, and mine as well. Therefore, I decided to go for an elegant floral maxi dress with bare shoulders, because I am all into bare shoulders this season, and a pair of red high top Converse. Not only was this super fun but also comfy and practical and I was able to dance until 5 in the morning without a care in the world. I wish all my friends were as cool as these guys. What do you think, would you be able to pull off such an outfit at the next wedding you have to attend? I loved is so much, I might try it again, even if the dress code doesn't require it.
Now comes the picture flood, because there were so many beautiful locations to shoot, and I couldn't help myself. And I still didn't manage to get to them all because it was starting to get dark. But I am quite happy I managed to snap a few pictures just in time for the golden hour. I will definitely have to go back again sometime and take some more pictures around the property. Hope you will enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed shooting them.

One dress two ways

One dress two ways

I had two events to attend on the same day this weekend and I needed an outfit I could transition from day to night quickly and effortlessly. The first event was a fashion show and press conference at the mall and therefore required a rather casual outfit, and the second one was a party for which I needed formal attire. With no time to change in between events, I knew I had to chose wisely. I opted for a white maxi dress with floral and birds print and cut out details. It was perfect for the party but not quite something you could wear to the mall. It was too hot to wear a blazer over it and since the top was a bit too revealing for daytime, I decided to wear a plain white shirt on top. Tied the shirt with a knot in the front and voila, my daytime outfit was ready. If I would get cold later on at the party, I could always put the shirt back on. I needed a versatile bag as well so I chose this cute little orange number that doubles as a clutch. Do you guys have any similar trick up your sleeve when it comes to turning an outfit from day to night?

Three stylish braid hairstyles for medium hair

medium hair side braid hairstyle tutorial

1. The side braid

This one requires some skills and maybe a bit of practice, but trust me, if I can do it, you can definitely pull it off as well. I wouldn't quite describe myself as clumsy, but I am by no means the most able handed person in the world. Trust me, it's not as difficult as it might seem at first. What you need to do is start by parting your hair on one side, right or left it doesn't matter. Start a french braid from the top of your head and work your way to the side, while pulling in hair strands from below and above the braid. Once you reach the back it might be easier to switch the hands on to the other side, or at least for me it was easier to do it this way. Try to keep the braid rather loose. Now remember, it doesn't have to be perfect because we are going for an effortless look over here, so don't worry if hair is starting to come out, you can fix it in the end with a couple of bobby pins. Once you've gotten to the other side of you neck and have pulled all the extra hair into the braid, just keep going with a simple braid and secure the ends with an elastic band. My hair has been recently washed, that's why I have all that fuzz sticking out. Try this hairstyle a couple of days after washing your hair and it will look a lot smoother and put together, if you prefer it that way.

2. The multiple braids

This one wasn't really planned out, I kind of made it up on the way. But I have to admit I took some inspiration from the show Vikings. I don't know if you guys watch the show, but let me tell you it's worth watching for the hairstyles alone. Of course they are a lot more elaborate than mine, but the characters there have longer hair, and I suspect some hair extensions as well. I started by pulling back the hair on the top of my head and securing it with a clear elastic band,  and exposing the sides. I then started to do a couple of  simple slim braids on one side of the head. On the other side I started to french braid a couple of strands horizontally and then continued downwards with simple braids. You can do as many braids as you want, some can be thinner, others thicker.

3. The bun braid

This hairstyle is my favorite and it's super easy and fast. I started by separating the hair on the top of my head and the sides and brading it into a simple braid. I tied it with a clear hair band so that I could hide it better. I then wrapped the braid around the base, into a spiral. The longer the hair, the bigger the spiral. I used a couple of bobby pins to hide the end underneath, and a couple more to secure the bun. I pulled on the hair strands in the braid to loosen them up a bit and give the bun a little more volume. It kind of looks like a flower from a distance. I've already said this one's my favorite, but let me know which one do you prefer best.

Looking back over my shoulder

H&M off shoulder ruffle top

Fashion is constantly looking back for inspiration, and this year the '70s are making a major comeback. I'm not super excited about the flare jeans, I think I will stick to my old fashioned boyfriend jeans for a while, but I am so thrilled to be wearing off the shoulder tops and dresses. I can't even remember the last time I wore something like this, it must have been in high school. And speaking of high school, it was so nice to spend a couple of days in my hometown and take some pictures in a very familiar surrounding. A lot of high school memories tie me to this park. I initially wanted to take pictures during the golden hour, which is the period immediately after sunset when the light is warm and the sky displays such wonderful colors. Unfortunately it started raining just as we were getting ready to head out. We had to wait it out and then the whole shoot turned into a race against the sunlight. It got pretty dark by the end and the street lamps were starting to light up, so the colors kept changing. But I had a lot of fun, and I felt super comfortable and stylish in this beautiful ruffled off the shoulders top. Can't wait to wear it with cut off jeans next time, or with a high waisted jeans skirt for a '70s inspired look. One thing I know for sure, this is a versatile top and I will be wearing it all summer long.
