Wedding season is in full swing, and even though I am not a big fan of weddings I knew this one was going to be different. The location for one was spectacular. We drove about an hour and a half outside the city to a domain where in 1903 an Austrian baron built a secession style castle/mansion, as a wedding gift for his fiancee. The property contains multiple wedding spaces, both indoor and outdoor, a spacious park filled with rare species, 300 years old oak trees, a vegetation tunnel and cherry orchards where deer, peacocks, pheasants, swans and pigeons roam about.
The other reason why this wedding was a bit different were the bride and groom, who decided to combine black tie attire with a surprising accessory: sneakers - and encouraged us to do the same. If you follow me on Snapchat (username: skinnybuddham) you might have already seen their outfits, and mine as well. Therefore, I decided to go for an elegant floral maxi dress with bare shoulders, because I am all into bare shoulders this season, and a pair of red high top Converse. Not only was this super fun but also comfy and practical and I was able to dance until 5 in the morning without a care in the world. I wish all my friends were as cool as these guys. What do you think, would you be able to pull off such an outfit at the next wedding you have to attend? I loved is so much, I might try it again, even if the dress code doesn't require it.
Now comes the picture flood, because there were so many beautiful locations to shoot, and I couldn't help myself. And I still didn't manage to get to them all because it was starting to get dark. But I am quite happy I managed to snap a few pictures just in time for the golden hour. I will definitely have to go back again sometime and take some more pictures around the property. Hope you will enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed shooting them.

My wife and I are both from the South (GA and SC), and we wanted a true southern wedding. We couldn't have picked a better place! The food and service at wedding venues chicago are superb. This is the closest as I've found since moving.
